David Lisken

I

With more than a decade of culinary experience, David has cooked in some of the world's most renowned locations, including Germany, Switzerland, Australia, and New Zealand. He has had the honour of preparing meals for celebrities and politicians, most notably at the 5-star Superior Seehotel Ueberfahrt  and Chiswick Restaurant in Woollahra, one of Matt Moran's renowned restaurants in Sydney. David has cooked for the likes of Gordon Ramsey, Malcom Turnbull, and former Prime Minister of New Zealand at a major Climate Change luncheon.

His extensive knowledge of cooking and event catering has enabled him to be highly skilled in a variety of cuisines and styles. In the last four years, David has become dedicated to creating health foods, plant-based dishes, and meals for yoga retreats. During his time as Sous Chef at Billabong Retreat in Sydney, he has also gained an in-depth understanding of the needs of people with specific dietary requirements, such as gluten-free, refined sugar-free, and other food sensitivities.

Currently, David is working at the highly awarded Gaia Retreat & Spa in the Byron Shire, where he is part of a team of chefs crafting exquisite cuisine for guests. At Gaia Retreat & Spa, each day's menu is prepared with the freshest ingredients, many of them sourced directly from their own organic gardens. The dinner menu is a unique experience, featuring a delectable four to five-course degustation which changes every day.

In addition to David's other endeavours, he takes great pleasure in providing catering services for wellness retreats. He also organises his own yoga and wellness retreats, preparing plant-based meals that are in line with the principles of Ayurveda, a system of medicine that focuses on the interconnection between mind, body, and spirit.
